Why Sell Your Place Yourself?

Jul 2, 2011 | No Responses

Why Sell Your Place Yourself? M-O-N-E-Y, of course! The average realtor fee on a place selling for $100,000 is $6000. Double that if your place sells for $200,000!  This can represent a fair amount of your home’s equity…that’s the cash you keep after all expenses are paid including remaining mortgage, closing costs, etc. Who couldn’t use that money back in their pocket?

Most folks choose not to sell their own home because they are unsure of what is involved and how to go about it. It’s really quite easy. It usually requires only 3 forms, an appraiser and an attorney. Most places can be sold with:

  • A Sales Contract
  • Seller’s Disclosure
  • Lead Based Paint addendum

-

All of these forms are available at office supply stores, online or from your attorney. You will need the services of an attorney in order to close the sale so it’s just as easy to obtain these forms from him or her.
