Our Mission

These days home owners can’t afford to give away thousands of dollars in commission fees when selling their homes.  But how do you let buyers know your home is for sale?  We created myplaceforsale.com to give For Sale By Owner (FSBO) house sellers a voice.  What does that mean?  Here in Cambria and Somerset counties we realized FSBOs had very little opportunity to advertise to home buyers that their home is on the market.  A sign in the yard isn’t enough.  And a one week ad in the local newspapers is very cost prohibitive.  In fact, an 8 line ad running for one week costs more than our Standard 60 day package.  In this tough market it takes, on average, 3 months to sell your home.  A one week ad isn’t very helpful.

If you’re a buyer, it’s easy to see what the realtors have to offer, but extremely hard to find Houses For Sale by Owner.  Sure, you can check the newspapers but the homes are presented in a less than appealing manner and most ads don’t include the address let alone a photo of the exterior.  As for the For Sale by Owner homes that only have a sign in the yard…well, they’re just virtually invisible.

We took our unique experience in electronic media and advertising, interior design and IT/computers and rolled it into this website with an eye toward narrowing our focus to all of Cambria and Somerset counties.  Our goal is to provide service in communities like Berlin, Somerset, Davidsville, Jennerstown, Cresson, Carrolltown, Ebensburg, Sidman, Portage, Windber, Johnstown and all points in between.  Yep, we are exclusive to our local area here in PA, not somewhere half way across the country.

In Cambria & Somerset counties you can’t buy your way onto the realtor MLS.  We hope to establish a “FSBO MLS”, a Houses For Sale By Owner Multi-Listing Service, if you will.  And a place where home buyers can come to see the places the owners are offering.
